Professional Profile:This program is approved by the Ministry of Education, and is jointly developed with the University of Western Australia to provide an applied undergraduate major to meet the needs of China's socialist economic development. In accordance with the professional norms formulated by the Finance Teaching Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education, this major draws on the international training paradigm. After years of practice and exploration, it has formed a talent training model that closely follows the actual needs of society.

This major systematically cultivates senior practical talents engaged in finance work. Graduates mainly work in banking, securities, insurance, financial regulatory authorities and industrial and commercial, service enterprises. Through learning, students are required to have a solid theoretical foundation of economics, master the basic theories, professional knowledge and related skills of the financial discipline, understand the frontier dynamics of the discipline and the principles and policies of the national financial field, and have a strong sense of innovation, pioneering ability and cooperative spirit, so as to lay a solid foundation for becoming high-quality financial talents with all-round development.


Employment Orientation: Graduates mainly work in financial institutions such as banks, securities, insurance, or regulatory agencies. They can also work as civil servants, study abroad, or in industrial and commercial, service enterprises and other units.

Duration of Study: 4 years


Degree awarded: Students will get Bachelor’s degree in economics and undergraduate diploma from Shandong University after four years of undergraduate study at Shandong University (Weihai). Students can also choose to study at the University of Western Australia in the next two years. The two schools recognize credits from each other. Those who meet the graduation requirements and degree awarding conditions of the two schools at the end of the study period can obtain diploma and bachelor's degree certificate of economics from Shandong University and bachelor's degree certificate of business from the University of Western Australia.
